Choosing and using oils in kratom soap
A common starting point in melt-and-pour soap making is around 3–5% of the total base weight — roughly 3–5g of essential oil per 100g of glycerin soap base. Weigh it precisely with a digital scale rather than estimating by drops.
Scent fade is usually caused by the soap-making process itself: lighter top notes like orange or lemon eucalyptus can evaporate during cooling and curing. Anchoring a light citrus oil with a heavier note, such as rosemary, helps the fragrance last longer.
Yes — kratom powder has a mild, earthy aroma of its own that pairs well with herbal oils like rosemary or oregano. See our full step-by-step kratom soap guide for the recommended blending order.
Most pure essential oils are safe in soap at the recommended dilution, but a few — particularly strong spice oils — can irritate skin if overused. Our range, including peppermint and tea tree, is selected specifically for cosmetic soap-making use. Always patch-test a finished bar before regular use.
Our transparent glycerin base lets both the oil's colour and the soap's clarity shine through, while the shea butter base pairs well with richer, heavier oils for an extra-moisturising bar.
