Red Kratom FAQ
The questions we hear most often about our Red Kratom.
Red Kratom is Mitragyna speciosa harvested and dried using a process that keeps the leaf's vein color red. It's generally considered the calmer, more grounding end of the kratom spectrum, which is why it's often chosen for evening or wind-down use.
The color comes from how the leaf is dried. Red-vein leaves are typically dried for the longest period of the three main colors, often with more light exposure, which shifts their profile compared to the shorter-dried Green and faster-dried White varieties. Red is generally the vein most associated with a calming, grounding character, while White and Green are more often associated with brighter, more energising profiles. For a fuller side-by-side look, see our guide to all four kratom strains.
Like all our kratom, Red Maeng Da starts as fresh Mitragyna speciosa leaf. What sets red-vein processing apart is a longer drying period, which is what gives it its distinctive red-tinted leaf and sets it apart from the shorter-dried Green and White leaf. See how it compares directly in our Green vs White vs Red Maeng Da comparison.
We currently carry Red Maeng Da, our red-vein strain, in 100, 250, 500g and 1kg bags. Every batch is independently labtested before it's approved for sale.
